Every year, Freeport-McMoRan’s New Mexico operations purchases livestock at the Cliff-Gila Grant County Fair to support local 4-H and FFA members. This year, two steers and three pigs were purchased from the individuals listed below.
Market Swine:
- Christopher Bennett, Breed Champion
- Matthew Ormand, Reserved Breed Champion
- Wyatt Robertson, Fourth White OPB
Market Steer:
- Aiden McDaniel, Second Medium Steer
- Lane Frost, Third Light Steer
The meat from these purchases was then donated to El Refugio and the Silver City Gospel Mission. El Refugio is a shelter for victims of domestic violence. Silver City Gospel Mission helps those in need of food, shelter, and clothing.
